The highlight of the day was obviously getting married to the love of my life. But the whole day was really just amazing. The venue was perfect. Everyone at the McFarland house was great to work with, especially Donna who helped us make our wedding vision into reality. Our photographer Emma Hull at ENH Photography made our experience so fun and did an amazing job capturing every moment of the day. Our Videographers Carrie and Andrew Wyand at 107Creative did a great job getting us to loosen up and really captured our real personalities and the true feeling of the day. It was perfect, I couldn’t have asked for a better day.

The house has a lot of historic charm while still looking new and classy. I was really wanting to have an outdoor wedding however that was really risky to do in March. Thankfully the ceremony room and reception room felt like you were outside. There was tons of natural light and I loved the fountains and greenery you all have as well as the decorative lights hung from the ceiling.

The food was exceptional, and Chef Walden was great to work with. You can tell that he truly cares about every single detail that goes into creating his dishes. Everything we had on our menu was delicious, and we got numerous compliments from guests. Our officiant even said that the food was the best he has ever had at a wedding.

One of the best things about our experience at The Historic McFarland House was that we got to use the house all day. This isn’t always the case, I remember for my sisters wedding we weren’t allowed to get to the venue until a few hours before the wedding. It was great to have unlimited time at the McFarland house before the wedding to relax and have a fun time getting ready instead of being rushed and stressed. It was also great because we had planned to end the wedding around 8:30 but everyone was having such a great time that we ended up staying until around 10.

There were so many great features in the house, but I have to mention the bridal room which was absolutely beautiful and made for great pictures and video of the girls getting ready. My absolute favorite thing would definitely be the natural feel of the ceremony and reception rooms. As I mentioned before I was really wanting an outdoor wedding and those rooms really gave me that feeling I was wanting.

When I first entered the Historic McFarland House, I immediately felt like I was at home. The house just felt so warm and cozy!

I heard about the Historic McFarland House through The Knot, and I am very glad I did. The Garden was my favorite feature of the house, and a lovely place to have my wedding… the Halima & Kenneth wedding.

What really made the house special was the fact that we got to spend the entire day at the venue, allowing our day to be less stressful. That really made us feel like we didn’t have to rush through our special day.

I will never forget the dancing with my mom and dad, my kids, and of course my husband! The Historic McFarland House was my “home away from home” and made our wedding day, very special.
